Each year GCF makes grants to local nonprofits in Avery County serving the hungry, those in need of shelter, and other social programs for children and adults.

Grant Application Qualifications/ Requirements

You are eligible for a grant if your organization

• Eligible if your organization serves Avery county.

• Has been in operation for a minimum of 2 years

• Needs funds for operational expenses only

• Intends to use funds to promote political or religious beliefs

• Plans to transfer these funds to any other organization

You must be a nonprofit organization

Must be a 501(c)(3) and have a current copy of your IRS Tax Exemption letter that must be included with your application.

Organization application acceptance

Grandfather Community Foundation accepts one grant application annually from an organization.

Purpose of fund awards

The foundation expects that any funds awarded will be used solely for the purpose set forth in the application.

Application deadline

Applications must be submitted by May 15 for review in early June.
