Does Grandfather Community Foundation have a financial audit?

Due to high audit fees, GCF does not presently undergo a financial audit. Audits are expensive. GCF prefers to maximize the use of its contributions for the benefit of the community and its residents. GCF employs several cost-effective ways to protect its assets.

How do I know GCF funds are effectively managed?

GCF has the following safeguards around its contributed funds:

• Financial Transactions are handled and monthly financial reports are produced by an independent agency, Southcliff Business Services LLC. GCF's Board of Directors review financial reports.

• GCF's scholarship programs are administered, and endowment funds are held, by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, which has an annual audit.

• Annually GCF files a Form 990, detailing its financial results , with the IRS. The 990 is prepared by the independent accounting firm, Forvis Mazars, LLP. The most recent GCF 990 is available here.
